Before you go ahead, be sure about why you want nose reshaping. Speak to your GP first and take time to think about your decision.

Healing is a slow and gradual process. The tip of the nose may have some swelling and numbness for months. You may not be able to see the final results for up to a year.

It is advisable not to schedule travel for three weeks following surgery to allow for proper postoperative recovery and healing.

With local anesthesia, the nose and the area around it are numbed. You will probably be lightly sedated, but awake during the surgery (relaxed and not feeling pain). General anesthesia allows you to sleep through the operation.

Although many of these complications are rare, all have occurred at one time or another in the hands of experienced surgeons practicing the standard of community care.

If narcotics are taken, it is important not to drive or engage in activities where impaired judgment could cause injury.

Defects of the lateral crura can be corrected with a flat strut of formed cartilage, but, if the support of the medial crura is absent, then a columella strut must be inserted, and attached at the level of the anterior nasal spine.

Allergic and vasomotor rhinitis – inflammations of the mucous membrane of the nose caused by an allergen, and caused by circulatory and nervous system disorders.

To correct a defect of the nasal lining of the upper two-thirds of the nose, the wound dimensions (length, width, depth) determine the technique. A nasal-lining defect of less than 5 mm in diameter can be closed primarily, with sutures. A nasal-lining defect 5–15 mm cartilage rhinoplasty in diameter can be closed with a random transposition flap harvested from a nasal area that remains protected, either by the nasal bones or by the upper lateral cartilages; and the flap donor-site can be healed by secondary rhinoplasty before and after intention, re-epithelialisation.

You may not be able to breath through your nose; drink plenty of fluids to help avoid a sore throat
